April 9, 2012GRANBURY, Texas – The East Central University women’s golf team sits in 14th place after one round of the Doc Housewright Invitational, hosted by Tarleton State, at the par-72 Harbor Lakes Country Club.
Lindsey Lunceford had the best round of the day for ECU with an 82 (41-41), which is tied for 45th place. Teammate Emily Wharton shot an 85 (45-40) and is in 57th place. Ashley Cardwell is tied for 60th after shooting an 87 (44-43). Ilissa Riley-Jaggers is in 71st place with a 96 (48-48) and Sara Posey is 72nd, after posting a 106 (49-57).
Tarleton State’s Sharon Lau, on the strength of a 1-under-par 71 (37-34) holds a two-shot lead over eight players, who are tied for second place.
St. Edward’s University leads the event with a 296, followed by host Tarleton State (297), Midwestern State (298), Western Texas Community College (305), Cameron (305), Western Washington (305), Academy of Arts (312), Northeastern State (313), Incarnate Word (320), Angelo State (323), St. Martin’s University (325), Texas A&M-Commerce (327), Southwestern Oklahoma State (334) and ECU (350).
The second and final round is set for Tuesday.
